This year's Year 4 play was "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." Julian was Augustus Gloop, which meant he could eat a candy bar on stage, which he declared his favorite part of the play. The kids all did a great job—no lines flubbed, nobody fell off the stage, no cues were missed, and they all acted their little hearts out.
We got there super early and so got to watch them set up a little. (Important note about living overseas: the refreshment stand sells beer!)
Julian's big moment: Augustus Gloop finds a golden ticket!
And now Charlie finds his golden ticket.
Willy Wonka makes his entrance.
And now Augustus Gloop falls in the chocolate river, and the Oompa Loompas take him away.
The Year 3's were drafted to be Oompa Loompas. I find them adorable.
"Violet, you're violet!"
Mike Teavee gets shrunk. (Love the Woody doll as a special effect!)
Curtain call.
Announcements and congratulations.
