Obviously, we didn't do much this summer because, you know, reasons. We decamped to North Carolina for a few weeks, but as the school year approached and the 'rona had no end in sight we needed to shift gears and go to Virginia. It didn't matter either way: mostly we just sat indoors and socially distanced ourselves. But this is what that long season ended up looking like. I still don't have my camera, and I still don't like shooting on my phone, so there isn't much here to show, but for the record, this was us in 2020.
The South. Gosh, it even feels hot just looking at the pictures. Luna enjoyed the playground, though.
We did manage a group photo before we left, though.
We took a trip into Washington, and Luna ignored all the monuments to look at the squirrels.
We had birthdays. Asa's was an invasion of chocolate. Julian made his own Derulo pie. (And yes, we ate the whole thing. A lot faster than we meant to.)
Oh, and we discovered Snapchat filters.
Luna escaped from the backyard, but didn't stray to far, and seemed please that we found her.
We took a real day trip to Harpers Ferry, which I'd never realized was so close. Plenty of Civil War stuff, but also a cute little town with some reasonably tasty burgers.
Luna went to summer camp, at least. I don't know why they served her beer, she's not even two! And the rest of us went apple picking (though we preferred the ice cream).
