On the road from Fort Portal we crossed the Equator, which was fun.
No sooner had we entered the park, Asa yelled out, "Elephant!" And could you believe it took us all at few moments to actually see the giant elephant standing right beside us? Embarrassing but true.
Our group and vehicle.
And here's what we saw.
The Rwenzori mountains are among the world's very few snow-capped mountains on the equator.
We stayed at the Little Elephant Camp just outside the park, which was very cool: safari tents, solar power, elephant trenches to keep us safe.
Waiting for a river cruise, we saw a group of mongooses. (Mongeese?) Anyway, one tried to eat Asa's shoe.
We floated down a stretch of the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Albert and Lake George.
And of course in the end there was a campfire.
