The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art sits in the far northwestern corner of the state, in an old factory complex that is itself a strange beauty.
The art is engaging on a number of levels, even for little guys.
This tunnel captivated us early on and set the stage for a good day.
I'll be honest: I didn't keep track of which artist did which art, so I'm just not going to bother to label anyone. If you really to know, check out MassMoCA's website. I'm sure it exists.
These two are my favorite pictures from the whole summer, maybe from ever.
There was so much to see, including a virtual reality installation and a low-light room, neither of which could I actually take pictures of, for obvious reasons. But just about everything was hypnotizing in some way or another.
One of the old factories is being allowed to rust and fall apart, as if nature and time were the artists themselves. For now you can climb around in there. There is a large installation at the top.
Back through the museum to find out way out, only to realize that there was still a lot we didn't get a chance to see. We'll have to come back someday.
In the end, exhausted but happy.
