We were watching Ms. Marvel and the show began with her trying to get to a comic book convention. The boys were curious, so I did a bit of searching to see what was possible. This was in June 2022, and unbeknownst to any of us, tickets to Star Wars Celebrations were about to go on sale. So we ordered the tickets, and nine months later we went to London to see Star Wars in person.
Star Wars aside, we did also have a day and half to explore London, which we did. There was some unexpected Uganda love: our cabbie was from Jinja, there was a Speke monument right when we entered Hyde Park, and we posed for photos in front of Uganda House.
The breakfast place closest to our house was a laundromat/diner. It was pretty awesome. Though we did eat at other places, too.
If there's a battleship in town, we have to visit it. Sort of a rule.
The Shard looks more like something out of Star Wars than most Star Wars things. Also, we read a scary kids' book once set in 17th century London that featured the Tower quite a bit, so we had to go see that up front and try to remember a weird book we read eight years ago.
And no trip to Europe is complete without exploring the public transportation. Especially the double-decker buses.
