We went to Germany for Christmas, to see family and to enjoy Christmas markets. How lucky that we can do both at the same time! It was cold for the first few days, but that didn't bother us at all. After all, there is gluhwein everywhere.
We took a day trip to Cologne. I took a photo of Asa on yet another city's public transport system. And then we ate more.
I was surprised by how many Roman things there are in Cologne. The old Roman walls are still standing! At least in some places.
Also, I took a self-portrait at a Christmas market.
And there's Cologne cathedral. Goth much? Ya think?
Our journey also took us to Mainz, which was once home to Johannes Gutenberg. We went to the museum, but all I took a picture of was the pretty little squares and gluh-gin, which is like gluhwein, but with gin.
Somehow in all my time in Germany I never actually into Frankfurt, at least not that I remember, but we did on this trip, because Christmas markets. Frankfurt isn't pretty, but it is an intriguing mix of very old and very new.
We stopped by the Museum of Contemporary Art, which wasn't a huge hit with us, but it did have some intriguing pieces. The coat and hat photo really spoke to me for some reason. I wasn't sure what to make of the seal in the stairwell, but I stared at it for a long time.
Asa dressed like Mozart for a minute. Fun fact: Sara just had these clothes lying around the house.
Also, I want Asa to record an album, because I already shot the album cover.
I told them to pose like an indie band.
And lastly, some wintry shots of Wiesbaden from the hills above the town.
