I took Julian to Amsterdam to see a rock concert. It was just me and him. We did a lot of clothes shopping, which was both fun and efficient somehow, but we did also do a little sightseeing. I brought my new camera with me. On the second day we rented bikes and rode to a town called Broek in Waterland about an hour north of the city. It was a very cute little village with, indeed, water everywhere.
Check out these little chocolate hedgehogs.
I liked this picture, and then wondered if it would look better in black and white. I don't think it actually does, but I thought I'd share them both anyway.
I wish my commute involved either cute little paths or little motorboats. Whoever lives here gets to do both.
Then we went back around Amsterdam. I have about a hundred photos of the canals already, but I took a few more, because you can never really have enough.
And I took more pics of all the pretty canal houses. I love the crooked windows in the big picture.
I tried my hand at some street photography. I'm working on it.
But the reason we were there was to see a concert, so we did, on the last night. This band is called Grandson. It was a very energetic show and we had a great time, and the crowd was very nice. Julian is somewhere in these photos. I told him he didn't have to spend the evening standing next to me if he didn't want to. He's big now, he can do those things.
